Infographic Debate Project - Does technology get in the way of learning?

Description:
This is my infographic debate project on why technology gets in the way of learning. Technology does not need to be present in the classroom because it brings the rise of cheating and distractions while learning. No technology for the students is no problem. The studies I provide show the bad effects technology has in the classroom.
Reflection:
1. One of the main reasons I chose this topic is because my partner Reed and I agreed on every topic except this one. I believe technology gets in the way of learning because of the higher use of cheating, distractions that come with technology, and the studies that show how technology is not effective. I personally believe in this topic to a certain extent. I am a user of technology in the classroom and see all the negative effects it has on my studies. So I think technology can be good if you use it correctly but the problem is most students dont. I do believe that technology increases students to get distracted, cheat more, and lose major focus on their real studies.
2. Researching one side of the topic was not as bad as I expected. I did not think I was going to find a lot studies done on this debate but I was wrong. A lot of people agree that technology gets in the way of learning and the surveys and studies go a long with that. Remaining biased was pretty easy but some of the articles showed both sides. When the author presented both sides of the argument, I had to separate the information and only focus on the bad effects of the studies.
3. I wanted my infographic to pop out so adding lots of pictures and colors was a great way to do that. I wanted my text to be white so everyone could read it easily. I started with general topics and then jumped more in depth into studies and specifics on why technology is bad in a learning environment. I wanted to have at least 3 charts and thats what I did. I think 3 charts is a good amount because it shows that my research is sufficient. Not only this but I added two studies in a long with the charts to back up my facts.
4. I think my infographic is very effective because it strongly persuades the viewer on why technology is bad in a learning environment. My point gets across easily and the data is not hard to interpret. I truly believe that my infographic presents a logical and persuading argument to the debate, "Does technology get in the way of learning."
I vote for Chis's. I liked his visuals, they did a good job of keeping me engaged
ReplyDeleteThank you means a lot.
DeleteI vote for this one. I feel like some of these arguments are more immediately pressing than future arguments in the long run.
